Il progetto di Georges Descombes non è un «opera terminale». Come giustamente mette in evidenza André Corboz questo parco/giardino non fa parte di quella grande marea storicistica che non accenna ancora a rifluire. E’ un parco/giardino disegnato come ricordo dello stesso parco/giardino e non ha quindi nulla del meccanicismo di molte attuali poetiche della memoria…» (F.P.)

These are projects and building which, in spite of being sometimes of high quality, embody the outcome of currents which exhaust themselves into often exemplary but fundamentally sterile syntheses. Georges Descombes’ project is no “finite work”. As André Corboz has rightly pointed out his park and garden do not belong to this vast historicist tide which does not seem ready to recede as yet. These are a park and a garden projected as the memory of the same, pre-exisling ones, thus avoiding the “mechanicism” of much of today poetics of memory…» (F. P.)
