]]> This book is the synthesis of a study produced by Bonifica S.p.A. for the European Coal and Steel Community, represented by the Commission of the European Communities, supervised by the Directorate General XI and financed by the Directorate General XVII.
The aim of the study is to develop innovative concepts for restoration. This objective is achieved through the following six pilot case studies located in different regions of the European Community: Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain), Lens (Nord-Pas de Calais, France), Mons (Hainaut, Belgium), St. Helens (Merseyside, United Kingdom), San Martin (Asturias, Spain), and Terni (Umbria, Italy).
