In più di trent’anni di carriera, Bertozzi & Casoni hanno costruito il loro mondo interiore, quello «delle cose come sono dentro», nel quale il pensiero ha continuamente tradotto in immagini la loro interpretazione della realtà che si è esteriorizzata assumendo le forme della scultura ceramica. Sebbene a uno sguardo distratto queste sculture possano sembrare “copie del reale”, riproduzioni dal vero di ciò che già esiste sotto ai nostri occhi, per l’accuratezza nella finitura dei minimi dettagli, di fatto, invece, non parlano mai la lingua del realismo, ma quella più complessa del sembiante

Throughout their careers of more than 30 years Bertozzi & Casoni have built up their interior world, composed “of the things that are inside”, in which thought translates their interpretations of reality into externalized images that then take on form as sculpted ceramics. Though at first glance these sculptures might seem “copies of reality”, reproductions of that which already exists in our experience, because of the accuracy in the finishing touches of the tiniest details, in fact they only seem to speak the language of realism but rather are related to the more complex one of likeness
