Il Premio Faenza rappresenta per il mondo della ceramica d’arte un punto di riferimento, una storia che parte da lontano, dal 1938, per giungere fino ad oggi, ancora vitale e atteso da tutti. La sessantaduesima edizione torna “in presenza” con entusiasmo ed emozione per curatori, organizzatori, ma soprattutto per gli artisti. Le loro opere raccontano di trasformazioni, ricerche, tradizioni talvolta lontanissime nello spazio e nel tempo. Son certo che anche la mostra e il catalogo di questa edizione saranno caratterizzanti per l’arte ceramica del nostro tempo e permetteranno contaminazioni artistiche, sempre fondamentali per la creatività della ceramica, anche artigianale e di design; in particolare in un momento in cui la nostra città è colpita da un evento drammatico come l’alluvione di maggio, che ha azzerato il lavoro di tanti laboratori ceramici. Il MIC è da sempre in dialogo con le attività produttive faentine e sempre le sosterrà con la stessa energia.

The Faenza Prize is a point of reference for the world of ceramic art, a history that starts way back in time, in 1938, and has continued to the present day as a dynamic event, long-awaited by all. The 62nd edition is once again being held with live participation, something that has created enthusiasm and excitement in the curators, organisers and above all the artists. Their works narrate the transformations, researches and traditions – sometimes very distant in time and space. I am cer tain that the exhibition and catalogue of this edition will characterize contemporary ceramic art and lead to artistic contaminations – always crucial for the creativity of ceramics, be it artisanal or design, especially at a time when our city has suffered such a dramatic event – the floods in May – that wiped out the work of so many ceramic laboratories. The MIC dialogues constantly with productive activites in Faenza and will always sustain them with the same energy as before.
