Ecce Homo

La tradizione classica, poi cristianogiudaica, sviluppa un dialogo inedito e affascinante fra l’essere umano e la tangibilità del divino. Un punto di incontro fra ciò che è limitato e qualcosa che, per sua natura, non ha fine. Si tratta di un contatto che ha dell’eccezionale: l’entità a noi superiore si avvicina alla nostra vulnerabilità mentre l’umano si protende verso una trasfigurazione della sua stessa natura. Il progetto intende indagare il dialogo che si instaura in questa zona di incontro, di passaggio e scambio per cui l’essere umano mostra e dimostra la sua infinitesima parte di assoluto. In questa prospettiva la rivoluzione attuata dal Cristianesimo riveste un ruolo centrale; il mistero dell’Incarnazione e la parabola di Gesù rendono tangibile il progetto salvifico divino, portato a compimento con il sacrificio e la morte del Figlio di Dio. Il dialogo inedito, e insieme affascinante, fra la raffigurazione e le speculazioni che coinvolgono l’essere umano e il suo rapporto con il divino è l’elemento che caratterizza l’esposizione. Il dolore, la sofferenza e la morte sono parte integrante di questo dialogo non come elementi negativi ma come segni della “divinità incarnata”.

Classical tradition, and later Judeo-Christian tradition, built an unusual and at the same time fascinating dialogue between humans and the tangibility of the divine. A point of contact between what is limited and what is, by its very nature, infinite. This contact is exceptional: the superior being draws closer to our vulnerability while man reaches out towards a transfiguration of his own nature. This project intends to study the dialogue established in this area of contact, passage, and exchange where man displays and demonstrates his infinitesimal part of the absolute. In this perspective, the revolution implemented by Christianity plays a key role; the mystery of the Incarnation and the parable of Jesus make the divine project of salvation tangible, achieved through the sacrifice and death of the Son of God. The key elements of this exhibition are the unusual, but at the same time fascinating dialogue between the depiction and speculations that involve man and his relationship with the divine. Pain, suffering, and death are an integral part of this dialogue, not as negative elements, but as signs of “incarnate divinity”.
