Le 40 fotografie scattate a Roma dal fotografo norvegese Morten Krogvold rivelano uno sguardo ammirato, nuovo e sorprendente sulla città eterna. Le fotografie sono tratte dal libro d’arte “Roma – sette passeggiate” (Roma syv vandringer), scritto daThomasThiis-Evensen, architetto e professore di storia dell’architettura. Le immagini catturate da Krogvold ci rivelano le strade e i monumenti che conosciamo avvolti da una luce algida e soffusa, insolita, quasi come se il fotografo vi avesse trasmesso la luce nordica dei mesi invernali. Morten Krogvold è uno dei fotografi d’arte norvegesi più affermati le cui opere sono state esposte in 18 paesi, tra cui Cina, Stati Uniti e Francia. I soggetti della sua arte fotografica spaziano dai paesaggi ai ritratti fino al mondo del teatro. La mostra rientra tra le celebrazioni del 50° anniversario dell’Istituto di Norvegia a Roma e ha il sostegno del Comune di Roma e della Reale Ambasciata di Norvegia. L’idea dellamostra nasce dal progetto per la mediazione culturale “Strade che partono da Roma” (Veiene fra Roma) diretto da Thomas Thiis-Evensen, un risultato della collaborazione instaurata tra l’Università di Oslo e la Scuola di Architettura e Design di Oslo.

The forty photos shot in Rome by the Norwegian photographer Morten Krogvold reveal an admiring, novel and surprising gaze over the Eternal City.
They were selected from the art book Rome – SevenWalks (Roma syv vandringer), written by Thomas Thiis-Evensen, a trained architect and a professor of the history of architecture.
The images captured by Krogvold show us familiar streets and monuments arrayed in an unusual light, cold and suffusive, as if the photographer had brought the winter light of the North with him. Morten Krogvold is one of Norway’s best known art photographers. His works have been exhibited in 18 countries, including China, France and the United States. His subjects range from landscapes and portraits to the theatrical world.
The exhibition was organized as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Norwegian Institute of Rome, and is sponsored by the City of Rome and the Norwegian Embassy. The idea of the exhibition stemmed from a cultural project, “Roads from Rome” (Veiene fra Roma), directed by Thomas Thiis-Evensen in the framework of collaboration between the University of Oslo and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
